1. Cancellation windows
Refund eligibility is based on how far in advance of your scheduled start date you cancel:
- 30+ days before departure: Full refund, minus a $35 per-person processing fee.
- 14–29 days before departure: 50% refund of the total package price.
- 7–13 days before departure: 25% refund of the total package price.
- Less than 7 days before departure, or no-shows: Non-refundable.
These windows apply to the standard package price. Some third-party providers (for example, certain in-park lodging or limited-availability tours) carry their own stricter, non-refundable cancellation terms — where that's the case, it will be flagged in your written itinerary before you pay a deposit.
2. How to cancel
To cancel, email hello@bookpackages.buzz or call (555) 010-2047 with your name and booking reference. Cancellations are effective as of the date we receive your request, not the date of any earlier inquiry.
3. Date changes
Requests to move your travel dates are treated as a change, not a cancellation, when made 14 or more days before departure and subject to availability: the first date change per booking is free, and a $25 per-person fee applies to additional changes. Date-change requests made less than 14 days before departure are handled under the cancellation windows above.
4. Refund processing
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 7–10 business days of approval. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the refund to your account.
5. Trip interruption by BookPackages or a provider
If BookPackages or a named provider cancels a confirmed component of your trip for reasons within our control, you'll be offered a comparable substitute or a refund for that portion of the package, at your choice.
6. Events outside our control
For cancellations caused by severe weather, natural disasters, government closures (including national park closures), or other events outside BookPackages' reasonable control, we'll work with you on rebooking or a credit toward a future package; standard cancellation fees may be reduced or waived at our discretion, but a full cash refund is not guaranteed where we have already paid non-refundable amounts to third-party providers on your behalf.
7. Travel insurance
We recommend independent travel insurance for any package, particularly multi-day itineraries with non-refundable third-party components, to cover cancellations for personal reasons such as illness or work conflicts.
